By that I take it, you got no warnings.
If so, now change the DHCP range so that it is 192.168.100 - 192.168.1.254
and it is fine/normal, to get a warning saying to release and renew the IP Address.

As how to release and renew an IP Address of a computer, there are different ways.
One of the ways is to turn off the computer and when you turn the computer back on, it renews.
