Second cablevwireless modem

I have FIOS in my office in the basememt, with cable television in the fa,miy rom and bedroom
I have a verizonn supplied wireless router in my basememt office whic provides WiFi
WiFi in the bedroom is sporadic prone to lost or broken connections.
Can i connect a second wireless unt , connected to the cable outllet in the bedroom. And if yes what secs do i need?
I am leery of bigger antennae or signal extenders
A second wireess modem/router would be the prferred solution
