I just spent hours fixing this! Steps are below... however I'm pretty sure that I spent most of those hours wasting my time.
1. Right click on the In Home Agent icon.
2. Troubleshoot compatibility.
3. Let it run.
4. Choose to accept the recommended changes.
5. The program does the rest. I was missing the HTA Installer or something like that.
If that doesn't work:
1. Uninstall your current version of Java.
2. Reinstall the most recent version of Java.
3. Remember to enable in brower if needed.
4. Close your browser.
5. Attempt to open In Home Agent.
If that doesn't work:
1. You will have to re-register your windows installer. Let me know if you need to know how to do this. I think troubleshooting your compatibility will fix everything.
