I'm on Windows 7 and only have AVG and spybot search and destroy, which I wouldn't think either one would be blocking it.
I'm trying to connect to my web hosting provider. And they say it should be setup to allow me to ssh in, but even if it wasn't or I was doing something wrong on my end to connect, I would think if both http://www.canyouseeme.org/ or http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ are showing port 22 as blocked for me, then it wouldn't matter beyond that.
Port forwarding is only for inbound connections that are initiated from the outside.. If you initaiate an ssh conversation with a remote server (i.e. outbound) the responses would be allowed back in with no need for port forwarding.
As far as I know no ports are blocked for outbound connections - except possibly port 25 (SMTP)
What application are you using to try and talk to your hosting provider?
