Verizon has publicly stated they are not doing muc in the way of expanding their coverage area for FIOS.
Re: How to have Verizon Fios Service Infrastructure installed in my Neighborhood?
Re: Rural Fixed Wireless
Thanks Edg1 yes verizon using it is pretty new and to my understanding is being deployed alot with all this new 5g technology. Im not sure if they are calling the residential side of it 5g or not but that is what im trying to info on if i can get the trolls that send links to mifi in home 4g routers to stop commenting like asked, since those products not only have nothing to do with fixed wireless but dont even operate the same lol. if you have anymore info or resources it would be greatly appreciated.
Google WiFi Causing FiOS Router to Have Orange Internet Light
Hello All,
I installed Google WiFi roughly two weeks ago and have been running into some connectivity issues. I am running a Google WiFi 3-pack and I have a 25/25MBps FiOS Internet connection running off of a Actiontec MI424WR router. I have FiOS Triple Play (TV, Internet, Telephone).
Here is how my Google WiFi is wired:
ONT (Ethernet) > Google WiFi > Gigabit Switch > FiOS Router (WAN)
The coaxial from the ONT goes into a coaxial splitter which feeds the televisions in the house. I also have coaxial from the splitter connected to the back of the FiOS Router. The FiOS router has WiFi disabled.
The Problem: Every 1-2 days the Internet light on the FiOS Router turns Orange. The only way this is corrected is by rebooting the FiOS Router. When the Internet light on the FiOS router turns orange, the televisions stop functioning correctly (Guide and DVR), as does the Internet in general.
I have attached two photos to show my current wiring setup. I followed the instruction in these forums for wiring the Google WiFi, but I don't know if something is wrong with the way I have the coaxial wired? Does coax still go into the FiOS Router if Google WiFi is receiving Ethernet from the ONT?
I have to tell you, my parents have Optimum Internet and Google WiFi was legit plug-and-play. It works perfectly without any of these issues. This FiOS Internet/Google WiFi is making me not want to renew my FiOS subscription now that my contract is up. Any help is much appreciated.

So far Verizon is only implementing 5G in LA, Sacramento, Houston and Indianapolis so it might be some time until 5G shows up on the east coast. So I would definitely plan on getting something else in the interim. There's no Cable provider in your area? If it is on the block it might be worth it to pay to run it to your house. With all the streaming we do today. DSL might not work out that well for you.
Re: cannot upload proof of residency
I am on hold endlessly. Yes called the number. There actually is no link on their site or in their app as stated in the email i received asking me to do this. FAX? Seriously? Here is the email info as it was sent.
Thanks for recently placing an order with Verizon. Another customer is currently receiving service at the address you provided. Before we can complete your order, we will need to arrange to have their services disconnected.
To expedite this process, please provide us with one of the following:
- Real Estate Purchase Agreement or Sales Contract*
- Property Deed or Title*
- Mortgage Billing Statement*
- Lease or Rental Agreement*
- Utility Bill
The fastest and easiest way to provide us with this information is to first make sure you're registered, and then sign in to the My Fios app or the My Verizon page. Select Upload proof of residency to upload any of the requested documents, or you can fax the information to 1-718-261-0657.
If you have any questions, please contact us at 1-877-295-2592 between 8am - 7pm EST Monday - Friday 8am - 4 pm EST Saturday.
Restoration Charges for suspended service is added to the Bill , which were not informed to me.
Re: Google WiFi Causing FiOS Router to Have Orange Internet Light
Make the Actiontec primary. Go ONT>Ethernet to Actiontec WAN>Actiontec LAN to Google WAN>Google LAN to Switch.
This way all your devices will connect to Google and the STBs will be happy and keep thr guide/on demand.
Yes coax to Actiontec has to be connected to give IP address to STBs so guide/on demand works.
Re: Google WiFi Causing FiOS Router to Have Orange Internet Light
Ok, I understand what you’re saying, but using the Actiontec router as the primary router goes totally against everything the instructions at the top of this forum says “Using your own router”.
A few questions:
1) Obviously, I am going to keep wireless disabled on the Actiontec router.
2) Does the Acfiontec router get placed into bridge mode? Because Google WiFi specifically says NOT to use their mesh network as a bridge when using more than one puck.
Re: Google WiFi Causing FiOS Router to Have Orange Internet Light
There isn’t really a “bridge mode” for the Actiontec. It will just be a different subnet. The IP address is 192.168.1.1 and it will give IPs to the STBs of 192.168.1.10x and they will get their update and guide data
It will also give Google Wifi an address of 192.168.1.x and your Google router after a reboot will most likey change it’s subnet to something else. Which it probably already is if things are working with you current setup. So to answer your second question no don’t place Google in bridge leave it DHCP.
Re: Google WiFi Causing FiOS Router to Have Orange Internet Light
One other I forgot to mention this will be the exact same setup as your parents Optimum setup. I’m assuming they prodive a modem/router combo? Then that connects to GoogleWifi.
There is definitely several ways people use their own router with FiOS TV. I’d try this way for a few days. Let me know how it works out. If not we can try some other ways.
FIOS + CheckPoint VPN Error
Hi, I am using a Checkpoint VPN for connect to my Job, when I connected to VPN, it doesn't work. I mean it connected but its also disconnected at the same time. I did the same connection test from another Internet provider, and it was connecting all right . So I think the problem its with Verizon router. Can you help me in this please?
This problem began the last Monday 09/24, before that date it was working well.
Thanks.
Re: Google WiFi Causing FiOS Router to Have Orange Internet Light
Thank you for your input. I'll fool around with my setup tomorrow and post my results.

From this article:
Quote
Internet users who might prefer fixed wireless include people in areas that lack fiber optic cable, DSL or cable television lines. They can still enjoy broadbandinternet access via a wireless service that can beam the connection straight to where it needs to go.
Please note “via a wireless service” microwave signals are wireless.
Re: cannot upload proof of residency
Unfortunately the process on the Fios side is not as smooth as the wireless side.
when I placed my Veterans status for discount the link was available but came back with errors. I called and the girl gave me a fax number as you showed in your own post.
i faxed. In your case proof of residency not for a discount but it should be sufficient.

Re: Fios G1100 router cannot connect to Canon wireless printers
Problem still exists but thanks to all who tried to help.
Adding new Port Forwarding rules always returns "Input Errors"
No matter what options I choose when attempting to define a new port forwarding rule, I always get the response "Input Errors".
This clearly worked in the past because I have other rules configured. I started bumping into this in the last couple of days as I want to make some tweaks / adjustments to what forwards there.
I can still disable and delete existing rules, but I can't create new ones.
Looks like the router is returning a 400 with no content.
My router details:
Anyone else seeing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Gigabit connection very slow
Here's what I'm getting, 940 down 820 up, that's what they're Speedtest to their device, the second part of it has the connection speed to my device says Needs checking, 60 Download 50 upload, I tried with my phone and my work laptop I'm getting the same thing is the gigabit speed only from the ont back to Verizon's Network and the rest your up to your own luck on, like the other person said when I had cable I was paying for 200 I was getting 217mbps download speed
wrote: I second that Nick. i only getting tlike 300Mbps on a good day. Why pay extra when with cable i was getting the advertised 500Mbps. Iam very disspaointed with my service.
with the same computer, so explain to me an IT person how it is that I'm getting these lower speeds on my devices
Re: Google WiFi Causing FiOS Router to Have Orange Internet Light
OK, I reconfigured my Internet setup as explained above and everything appears to be working for the time being. If anything changes or I experience any issues I will post them.
For anyone else using Google WiFi with FiOS TV I am using the following setup:
ONT (Ethernet) > Actiontec Router WAN
Actiontec LAN Port 1 (Ethernet) > Google WiFi WAN > Gigabit Switch
Google WiFi automatically uses a different IP address range than the standard 192.168.1.1, so there was no conflict with the Actiontec router's IP address range. Subnet Mask is the same on both devices 255.255.255.0. WiFi is disabled on the Actiontec router.
Re: The Worst!!!
I signed up for Fios after 15 years of cable service, bought the router to avoid the monthly fee, router arrived five days ago and is sitting in the box, and I just got an email that your billing period has just started, and A LINK TO A SELF IINSTALLATION VIDEO!!!! You have GOT to be kidding! And imagine how much more aggravating was to experience this MyVeriszon Website!!! State of the art... Every other click I get an apology for something going wrong, and those are the pages that actually load (Luckily I didn't disconnect our current 200 MBPS by Optimum!)... As if they are running away from debt collectors, there is no phone numbers or emaill address or ANY DIRECT MEANS to connect to a live person right away... Refrained fomr adding another exclamation mark. Starting to realize what the Emojies are invented for... Hammer Hammer Chain Saw Beer Foam Etc please use your imagination... This, does not reflect the appearance of a legitimate and honorable business. This, is disrespectful, to say the least. Helpless customer is caught between a slowly demising Cable company, and the three eyed offspring of the undead MaBell monster with a single gold teeth. Till 5G do us part.
